The Praxis I tests are academic skills assessments required for all students in teacher preparation programs at Ohio University for admission to professional education.
The Praxis II exams are subject assessments required for licensure in the State of Ohio and many other states. They measure a candidate’s knowledge of the subjects s/he will teach, as well as general and subject-specific pedagogical skills and knowledge.
The Praxis III assessment is designed to assess the skills of beginning teachers in classroom settings. All entry-level teachers in Ohio must pass this classroom performance assessment during the first two years of teaching in order to apply for a five-year professional teaching license.
