Student teaching site assignments |
Students in teacher preparation programs at Ohio University, regardless of college of enrollment or campus attended, must successfully complete a student teaching experience. The Office of Student Teaching arranges site assignments with school districts in the Athens area and each regional campus areas. Qualified students may apply for "out-of-area" assignments that can typically be arranged. Each placement involves the support of a cooperating teacher, an Ohio University site supervisor, and the Office of Student Teaching.
It is the responsibility of each student to submit an application to the Office of Student Teaching no later than December 1 of the academic year preceding the year in which a placement is desired.
Ohio University has entered into an "Exchange of Services Agreement" with school districts who host student teacher and field students. Information about that agreement and forms related to implementation of the agreement may be accessed by clicking on "Exchange of Services" in the menu to the left.
