ATHENS, Ohio (Oct. 7, 2009) - Ohio University will host the Ohio Academic Advising Association (OHAAA) Fall Regional Seminar Friday, November 6, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The theme for the seminar is "Lean Times in Advising." The keynote address will be delivered by David Descutner, Ohio University's Dean and Assistant Provost for Undergraduate Education and Interim Executive Vice President and Provost. Descutner will discuss his experience with budget reductions. A panel discussion featuring administrators from many different schools will follow Descutner's address. The panel will include Lillian Johnson, Assistant Dean of University College at Wright State University, and Laura Chapman, Assistant Dean of University College at Ohio University. The panel will discuss serving students effectively with less money, promoting professional development with little money, and handling budget cuts. The registration fee for the seminar is $20. For $35, individuals may attend and also gain membership in the OHAAA. Breakfast will be served. Registrations are due October 23, 2009.
