Developing content knowledge, pedagogical expertise, and skill in using technology in Data Analysis, Probability, and Statistics

QUANT is a professional development program for mathematics teachers in Grades 8-12 and is funded by a grant from the Ohio Board of Regents Improving Teacher Quality Program. The QUANT institute will be offered at Ohio University-Chillicothe for commuters only on June 14-18 and August 5 and 6, 2010. An additional QUANT institute is being offered during summer 2010 at the Ohio Resource Center in Columbus. Click here for more information about QUANT in Columbus.

QUANT at OU-Chillicothe will begin with summer workshops focusing on Data Analysis, Probability and Statistics. Participants will explore these concepts in-depth using handheld computers and related software and other technology as tools for teaching and learning. In addition, participants will complete six online instructor-led QUANT modules during summer 2010 and develop a plan to use what they learn in their classrooms. The institute will be followed by online support and two 6-hour Friday workshops on 1 October 2010 and 4 March 2011.
