The Advanced Quantitative Reasoning (AQR) project will develop student materials and teacher resources for an innovative post-Algebra II alternative to Precalculus for students who have successfully completed Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, or Integrated High School Mathematics I, II, and III. The AQR course will be designed with the aim of developing mathematical proficiency, statistical proficiency, and quantitative literacy, filling a critical gap in the nation's high school mathematics course offerings. This course will address numerical reasoning, statistical reasoning, discrete and continuous modeling, and geometric modeling and spatial reasoning--and will balance mathematics language development with in-context, technology-supported inquiry and problem solving.
