Department graduates

College of Education graduates
go on to become leaders
in their professions.

The College is divided into three departments that offer both undergraduate teaching programs and graduate programs in a variety of fields in and related to education at various levels. The undergraduate program leads to teacher licensure and many of the graduate programs lead to licensure and/or certification in their respective fields.

Department of Counseling and Higher Education

The Department of Counseling and Higher Education offers graduate programs at the master's and doctoral levels in College Student Personnel, Counselor Education, and Higher Education.

Department of Educational Studies

The Department of Educational Studies offers graduate programs at the master's and doctoral levels in Cultural Studies in Education, Educational Administration, Educational Research and Evaluation, and Instructional Technology.

Department of Teacher Education

The Department of Teacher Education offers both undergraduate and graduate programs at the master's and doctoral levels in a range of teaching fields. Applicants seeking a master's degree and a teaching license will apply for a program "with licensure." Also, master's and doctoral programs are available for teachers who already hold a teaching license or a teaching certificate.

  • Undergraduate: Early Childhood, Middle Childhood Education, Adolescent to Young Adult Education, Special Education-Intervention Specialists Program K-12, Multi-age Education (K-12 Special Field)
  • Graduate: Middle Childhood Education with or without Licensure, Reading Education, Adolescent to Young Adult Education with or without Licensure, Mathematics Education, Science Education, Social Studies Education, Special Education with or without Licensure.
