The core values and dispositions of the College of Education are a set of fundamental principles and values that guide the practice and development of our faculty, students and staff.
Commitment to Social Justice
Commitment to Ethics
Commitment to the Well-being of Students, Families, and Communities
Commitment to Professional Competence and Ongoing Professional Development
Assessment:
To see how we assess these dispositions in our candidates, or to perform an assessment yourself, download our Rubric for Assessing Dispositions of Educational Professionals. There is a specific protocol to be followed when a candidate receives a “below expectation” on the dispositions assessment. Download "Protocol for Raising a Concern on the Dispositions Assessment" HERE.
“Dispositions are the values, commitments, and professional ethics of students, families, colleagues, and communities that affect student learning, motivation, and development, as well as the Candidate’s own professional growth. Dispositions are guided by the beliefs and attitudes related to the values such as caring, fairness, honesty, responsibility, and social justice” (NCATE, 2001, p.53)
